Run Commands You Should Know

Today I am here to tell you tips and tricks, run command you should know. Most of you already know or maybe use the run on windows.
If you are using the windows and don’t know what is RUN. So, don’t worry RUN in windows is a command to directly open an application or document. The requirement is that you should know the path of the application to be opened.

To open RUN press Home (win logo)+ R.
Below are the run commands you should know:-
  1. “\” (backslash) – This command will open your C drive. Just type “\” in the RUN command.
  2. “.”(period or dot) – This command will open the current user’s home folder.
  3. “..”(double period) – This command will open the users folder which is located in the C drive.
  4. chkdsk – check disk. This tool helps to fix logical file system errors. This command will work in windows not in UNIX. In case of UNIX you have to typefsck.
  5. cmd – to open command line interface or DOS quickly in windows typecmd.
  6. msc – MMC or Microsoft Management Console is a component that will provides system admin and advanced users to configure and monitoring the system.
  7. calc – just type this command and you will see the calculator.
  8. msc – Device Manager. You can view and control hardware attached to your system. When some hardware is not working, this will highlight it.
  9. netplwiz – This command open the advanced user account in windows.
  10. cleanmgr – This tool is helpful when you want to clean your computer. This command will clean trash or cache file to make some free space on the computer.
  11. msc – Group Policy Editor used to set and sedit different windows policies of a local or remote computer. But be careful the Group Policy Editor is an advanced tool.
  12. dxdiag – or DirectX Diagnostics. This command will test DirectX funcionlity and troubleshoot video or sound related hardware problems.
  13. mrt – this tool will help you to remove malicious software from your computer.
  14. perfmon- Performance Monitor is used to view performance data, bothe in real time and from log files.
  15. cpl – this command is used to access all the network adapters.
  16. cpl – This command will open power options and you can adjust your power usage.
  17. cpl – This command will open your system property.
  18. msc – Security Policy.  You can control who can access your computer, what resources you want to give to users on your computer or whether or not a user or group actions are recorded in the event log.
  19. regedit –Registry Editor.
  20. msc or diskpart – The Logical Disk Manager (LDM) is developed by Microsoft and Veritas Software. LDM was deprecated in windows 8 and windows server 2012. Disk Manager.
  21. cpl – this command will open the Firewall window.
  22. wuapp – this command check, manage and configure all Windows update settings.
  23. dfrgui – Disk Defragmenter. This tool will help to increase access speed by rearranging files stored on a disk. Disk Defragmenter also reduces systemstartup times.
  24. msconfig – Windows System Configuration. You can edit the boot options, startup options, services, etc.
  25. cpl – you can quickly access the Programs and Features window where you can quickly uninstall your installed programs.
